Charly Boy will return as judge on Nigerian Idol season
III not as himself, but as alter ego Linda. Charly Boy made this known
during the Nigerian Idol season III launch. He said he would still be on the
judges' seat, except this time as his alter ego Linda.
According to Charly Boy's rep:
"Linda is his feminine side, that is the woman in him. It is that Linda
that wears makeup. Linda directs him on how to be compassionate like women and
also responsible for all the humanitarian works he had done over the years.
Without Linda, he could not have done all that."
The judges for season 3
include Yinka Davies, Jeffrey Daniels, and Linda.
Meanwhile co-host Tiwa Savage
would not also be returning to the show this season. Tiwa said she wants to
focus more on her career and debut album expected before the end of the year.
Her reps confirmed: "It
was difficult to combine with an increasingly time-consuming schedule. Nigerian
Idol is something she will like to do again in the near future but not before
she releases her new album amongst other things."
Illrhymz and Tiwa Savage took
over as hosts of Nigerian Idol II from Misi Molu and Anis Halloway in September
2011.
Nigerian Idol season III would
be aired in 14 countries including Canada, the prize sum increased from N15m to
N20m and the audition cities increased from four to five.

season III is scheduled for December 16 themed 'Be the voice of tomorrow'.
Abuja audition would hold at
