Declaring
the training open, the Special Adviser to Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan
of Delta on ICT, Mr Sunny Ofili, said it would make the beneficiaries
to become employers of labour.
``The
state wants to use this two weeks to train computer engineers on A+, JAVA,
Database and C++.
``If
Google, Facebook and Zinox wants to have an office in Delta, they can
be used as point of call,'' he said.
According
to him, beneficiaries shall be able design personal websites to
start business and be employers of labour, as no huge amount is needed to
start up.
Ofili also
said that the training would help the participants to be self sustaining,
adding that it would turn out to be a life changing event for them.
He,
therefore, advised them to take the training seriously, adding that more
training would be coming up twice in a year.
Ofili explained
that the training was organised by the state government in conjunction
with National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Responding
on behalf of the participants, Mr Festus Nwaomucha, thanked the state
government for organising the training and appealed for its sustenance.
