In a statement by the director, Corporate Communications and Planning, DAAR Communications Plc, Mr .Johnson Onime, which was made available to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND yesterday, the media organisation said Ogungbe, an alumnus of Orlean and Southern University, Baton Rouge both in Los Angeles in the United States, would take the outfit to greater heights in the industry.
Ogungbe holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and masters degree in Mass Communications from the two universities.
He
was the pioneer assistant general manager of RayPower FM upon the debut of the
station in September1, 1994, and succeeded the general manager in 1995 before
rising to become the group general manager of DAAR Communications Limited till
2000.
He
was the founder/chief executive officer of Kennis Communications Limited in the
year 2000 and was the senior partner of Prime Time Entertainment and was
appointed into the board of DAAR Communications Plc in 2011.
An
accomplished broadcaster, whose professionalism, creativity and versatility has
won him several awards, both locally and internationally, Ogungbe started his
career in Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta in 1979.
