I WAS NOT PAID BILLIONS BY YERO – SAMBO

Vice President Namadi Sambo yesterday denied that he was paid unspecified billions of naira by Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna state as being speculated that the state government paid Sambo’s company, Nalado Nigeria Limited for services, the company rendered the state.
Sambo said he has no hand in the way and manner Yero is running the affairs of Kaduna state, adding that Yero is a man of his own.

Sambo, who spoke to our correspondent in a telephone interview through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Umar Sani, said, “It is totally lies and mischief, that our principal was paid billions of naira for services carried out by the company in Kaduna. What consultancy services did the company carried out? Is the Vice President, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or a Kaduna based businessman? And how did Kaduna state government under Yero paid the company?

“There is nothing like that, let those speculating come with proofs and stopped heating the polity with sentiment. It is lies and purely politics and we are pleading with critics to turn to issues based politics and not spreading sentiment, creating unnecessary debate. As far as we know, it is not true but propaganda of sort.”

Arguing that Sambo has no business with how Yero run the affairs of the state, Sani said, “We have said it and will say it again, His Excellency, the Vice President has no say in the way his home state is being run.”
