POLICE SEAL OFF 'NEW PDP' OFFICE IN PH

A detachment of policemen on Thursday sealed off the Rivers State secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party faction led by Alhaji Kawu Baraje.
The secretariat, which is located on Forces Avenue in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, was opened on Thursday.
The opening of the office caused a stir in the Rivers State capital, especially as Governor Rotimi Amaechi is one of the seven 'rebel governors' in the Baraje faction.
The police had on Saturday shut the national secretariat of the 'New PDP' in Maitama, Abuja based on a court order allegedly obtained by the Bamanga Tukur-led national leadership of the party.
The faction also opened an office in Kaduna some days ago. The shutting of the Port Harcourt secretariat may have also been on the strength of the court order.
