Former defence minister, Gen Theophilus Danjuma, has gave reasons for his silence on the controversial letter of former president Olusegun Obasanjo to president Goodluck Jonathan.
In his goodwill message at the 6th edition of the Abuja Festival of Praise which he hosted at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja on Friday night, Danjuma said even though he was mentioned in the letter, he had refrained from making comments to the press about it because he has unfettered access to the president and would speak with him “face to face” if he had anything to tell him.
Danjuma said: “The press have been after me; they want me to react to what Obasanjo said about Mr President and I told them that I have complete and unimpeded access to the president and if I have anything to say to him, I will do so face to face. These are very difficult times and we must be careful, especially as leaders on what we say in the public.”
