TOP CIVIL SERVANT ABDUCTED, KILLED IN ABUJA

Unknown Gunmen on Monday night abducted the Deputy Director, Expenditure, in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation. His dead body was found in Gwarimpa area of Abuja in Wednesday.
Peoples Daily learnt that the deputy director, Ahmed Saidu, was abducted in the vicinity of Amigo supermarket in Wuse 2 after he had left his office around 10 pm on Monday night.
Reliable sources informed Peoples Daily that his body which had machete cuts and a gun shot wound was discovered under a bridge but his car and other belongings including his phones have still not been recovered.
According to one of our sources, the search for him started on Tuesday after he failed to return home from work and persistent calls by his wife were unanswered.

The wife was said to have reported the matter to the Head of Civil Service on Tuesday morning and the frantic search for him led to the discovery of his body in Gwarimpa.
The Head of Communications, Civil Service of the Federation, B. O. Ajakaiye, confirmed the incident saying that he would not speak further on the case since it was already under police investigation.
Peoples Daily learnt that late Ahmed’s body was yesterday taken to his hometown in Bichi, Kano state, after his mother insisted that his remains be brought home for burial.
The deceased, it was learnt was transferred to the office of the Head of Service about three months ago from the ministry of Defence.
The Force Public Relation Officer, Frank Mba, when contacted last night told Peoples Daily that he was not aware of the incident but directed the newspaper to speak to the Abuja police command.
The Abuja police command PRO, Alrine Daniel, told Peoples Daily that she also was not aware of the late deputy director’s abduction and subsequent killing.
The incident is coming barely a week after the Abuja police command patted itself on the back celebrating what it described as a crime free Christmas celebration.
The public Relations Officer of the command, Altine Daniel had said “things are going on well. We have not recorded any incident”.
