Niger State Governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has stated that President Goodluck Jonathan was not the reason for the emergence of Boko Haram and their increased attacks in the North East, adding that the dreaded sect began their activities long before the President became the Vice President.
He stated that until sentiments and conspiracy theories were put behind, it might take a long time to combat the sect.
Aliyu who spoke during the opening ceremony of the 2014 National Conference of Directors of Planning Research and Statistics held in Minna Monday, said Nigerians should stop linking the increase in the activities of the sect to people not wanting Jonathan in office.
