BOKO HARAM KILLS 15 IN BORNO MARKET RAID

Nigeria’s deadly terrorist group, Boko Haram, Sunday killed 15 people in troubled north east Borno State, as they stormed a local market in Daku village of Askira/Uba Local Government Area in the morning, setting several shops, houses, vehicles and motorcycles ablaze after the killings.
Askira/Uba Council shares boundaries with Biu, Chibok, Gwoza and Hawul council areas and is southern part of Borno State, 190 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.

It was gathered from reliable sources that the gunmen, numbering over 20, armed with AK47 rifles, improvised explosive devices and petrol bombs, invaded the market square on motorcycles and a Hilux Toyota vehicle at about 11am and opened fire on traders, killing the 15 and carted away food items and unspecified amount of money.
The hoodlums, said to have had a field day, according to sources, operated for about an hour, before they fled towards the Sambisa forest.
Efforts to get official confirmation from both police and military sources proved abortive, as their spokes persons could not be reached on phone.
