JONATHAN MEETS ESCAPEE CHIBOK GIRLS TODAY

• Assures of safety of remaining abducted students
President Goodluck Jonathan will today meet with parents and escapee Chibok schoolgirls in the State House.
Already, some of the girls and their pa
rents have arrived Abuja for the parley. They were lodged last night at a popular Hotel in Abuja.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that the girls and their parents arrived at the hotel at about 4:45pm and were immediately taken into some of the suites on the fifth floor.
A security operative told our correspondent that they were dispatched to the hotel to maintain law and order.

The atmosphere in the hotel was calm as customers were seen going about their normal businesses.
After a meeting with Pakistani education rights activist, Malala Yousafzai at the Presidential Villa, President Jonathan agreed to meet with parents of the abducted girls and some of the female students who allegedly escaped from the insurgents’ camp.
The meeting could not hold as neither the parents nor the escapee girls honoured the invitation.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the State Security Service, SSS, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong, has insisted that the security forces know the whereabouts of the abducted girls.
Ekpenyong urged Nigerians “to go to bed” as he assured them that there was no cause for alarm over their whereabouts.
After the National Security Council meeting at the State House, the secret police chief said: “Government is making efforts. We know where they are but we don’t want to endanger their lives. That is the truth. We want to take it gradually and release them at the appropriate time. We know where they are. You can go to bed with that.”
