A new faction has emerged in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, who claimed to be the authentic leadership of the party in the state.
The faction led by Alhaji Hussaini Isa Mairiga, has a one time gubernatorial aspirant, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Kyabo as deputy chairman, Alhaji Bashir Kore, vice chairman, North, and Engineer Abdulkadir Sulaiman, vice chairman, Central and Alhaji Lawan Nayaya Fagge as secretary.
In a statement, the chairman of the faction, Alhaji Hussaini Mairiga said Hajiya Sadiya Abdullahi Bachirawa is the women leader while Tasiu Baliya will be the legal adviser and Abbas A. Abbas is the public relations officer.
He said the new leadership reflects a better representation of the people’s will, adding that APC being a mega party should include all the legacy parties.
“The people of Kano are supporters of APC but want the party to be run as a merged party carrying everyone along, not being one sided”, he explained.
Mairiga revealed that the party’s secretariat will be opened soon to allow party activities and also enable members continue their plans for the forthcoming elections.
He also said the 44 local governments in the state will begin the inauguration of the 24 man local government executive this week with that of Dala local government area already in place.
