AONDOAKAA RECALLS TIME WITH YAR’ADUA, JONATHAN

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice in the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s administration, Chief Mike Aondoakaa (SAN), has said that one of the greatest challenges that confronted him while in office was to make Nigerians understand the principles of the Rule of Law.
According to him, no country can develop without embracing the tenets and principles of the law, which he described as the key for the development of the country.

Aondoakaa, who stated this in an interview said, he was often misconstrued as being controversial on certain issues affecting the country because he was always seen to be telling the truth and performing his job creditably and to the satisfaction of the late president and his then deputy, Goodluck Jonathan; a situation that endeared him to the duo.
“I was always telling the truth.
Even President Jonathan can testify to that. He can tell you that Mike can always speak his mind and say the truth. I served their government for two and a half years.
If you go to President Jonathan and tell him lies against me, he will tell you Mike can’t do this,” Aondoakaa said.
