KWANKWASO BEMOANS ROT IN ABIA, URGES ELECTORATE TO SACK PDP

Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State, a presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), has said the level of rot and decay he has seen in Abia State can only take the efforts of a governor produced by his party to address.
He made the statement in Umuahia at the weekend through his five-man delegation, on a week’s visit to the state to woo APC members to support his presidential bid.
Members of the delegation said they were in the state to interact with the people and leadership of the party and identify their problems and challenges with a view to integrating them into Kwankwaso’s presidential development plan.
Earlier, the state Organising Secretary of the party, Chief Agba Osita had told the delegation that the leadership of the party in Abia pledged its support to Kwankwaso on account of his performance as governor.

“He had been a governor in the past and he came back and Kano people accepted him, which is a plus for him and based on that we will give him 100 per cent support in as much as he will also give us support.
“Our people are willing to make their delegates available as long as he is ready to make himself available by initiating himself in the 184 wards in Abia with sincere and honest people . Abia APC is saying that we will give him our support because we need a youth who knows how to pilot the affairs of this country. We have heard stories of Kwankwaso Campaign Organisation in other parts of this country, we want to feel his impact and all delegates from the wards will come and vote for Kwankwaso. The earlier he starts, the better for him, because as the first to come to us, he will get our support,” he said.
In his speech, the leader of the five-man delegation and Vice Chairman of Madobi Local Government Council, Kano State, Muktar Gora, said he visited Abia over a decade ago but regretted that after many years, there was nothing additional in terms of development and structure that one could point to as evidence that Abia had changed.
His words: “The existing development I saw then is the same thing that I am seeing today. Abia State Government House is even on rent, but I want to tell you that Governor Rabiu built government house in six months.
“But despite all the federal allocations Abia State is having, the government has not built a government house up to now. If you go to Aba, they are suffering, no roads, nothing.”
He added that since they arrived Abia, they had gone round Aba, Umuahia and other adjoining towns and villages to get a first-hand report they would give to their principal.
“Since we came into Abia, we have seen that Abia State APC is real, having interacted with the executive leadership of the party and addressed the 184 ward chairmen from the 17 local governments areas of the state. People are calling Kwankwaso to aspire for the presidency of Nigeria so that he will transform Nigeria the way he did for Kano State. If kwankwaso emerges as president of Nigeria in 2015, it is a destiny, I am sure within two to three years, he will transform Nigeria and Abia will be one of the beneficiaries,” he promised.
“I was in Abia in 2002 and spent about 30 days. After all these years, there is nothing additional in terms of development and structure that one could point to that has changed in Abia State. The existing development I saw then is the same thing that I am seeing today.”
Muktar insisted that the nation’s problem was leadership, saying: “But we believe that Kwankwaso is a leader, he can rule and he can lead. He will assist Abia people to have good leaders so far they have the aspiration to have good leaders as well as help them to be in good condition.”
He advised APC in Abia and Abia people to exercise patience, enthusing: “Very soon, change will emerge in Abia State. We have seen that people are eager to vote for change and the change is APC. They should exercise patience, very soon change will emerge in Abia.”
