“I believe after the wife and children, I am most hit by his death,” Dr. Uduaghan said, adding, “over the years, I have learnt to control my anger but, on the day he died, I was very angry over the circumstances of his death, Sunny was very loyal.”
He rhetorically asked, “why did Sunny enter that vehicle? He did not need to embark on that journey.”
The Governor urged Nigerians to pray against being at the wrong place at the wrong time asserting, “when you wake up in the morning, pray not to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, pray against associating with the wrong people and pray against being dragged along with the wrong people at the wrong time.”
He assured members of the late Ofili’s family that the Delta State government would not abandon them and prayed that God would give the family and those who were affected by the death the fortitude to bear the loss.
Bishop Ken Ebolum of Dominion Christian Centre in a sermon said, “Delta State has been denied an asset with the death of this man, the idea of having an ICT park which other states will come and copy from in Delta State have suffered a setback with his death.”
In a related development, a valedictory session has been held by the executive arm of government in Delta State for the late Special Adviser to the Governor of the state on ICT, Mr Sunny Ofili.
At the session which was held yesterday morning shortly before a funeral service for the deceased, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan observed that the session was important because, “he was an active member of this executive council, his contributions were very valuable and I want to assure members of his family that government will be there for them.”

Speaking during the session which was held at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, the Commissioner for Information in the state, Chike Ogeah recounted his relationship with Ofili and described him as somebody who does not bear grudges, loved his family and believed in service to his community and the society while the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation in the state, Dr Antonia Ashiedu described the late Ofili as “very humble, respectful and calm.”
Also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Mike Okeme said, “our friend was a grassroots man, meek, humble, respectful, a great listener and an achiever,” adding, “he was a family man and his care for his family is second to none.”

REST IN PEACE SUNNY!!!
