AMAECHI WILL ANSWER FOR HIS RECKLESS STATEMENTS IN 8MONTHS- BIPI

A lawmaker from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Honourable Evans Bipi, has said that Governor Rotimi Amaechi will answer for all his reckless statements and actions in less than eight months’ time.
Bipi also sounded a threat to make the state ungovernable should Amaechi fail to desist from h
is belligerent posture against President Goodluck Jonathan and the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The lawmaker who is the factional Speaker of the state legislature and the coordinator of the PDP Caucus in the assembly, made this known while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.

In his reaction to the series of verbal attacks by the governor against President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, Bipi said Amaechi had lost all sense of protocol and culture in his actions against the president.

“It is regrettable that Rotimi Amaechi has consistently insulted and disparaged a sitting president and his wife with impunity, in abuse of his immunity as a governor.

“Last Saturday, the governor demonstrated, in broad day light, his madness against the Nigerian State in such a treasonable manner, having lost all sense of protocol and culture.

“We feel pained that we are constrained to take necessary action against him because of the immunity which he enjoys. However, we are encouraged by the fact that his arrogant reign as governor of Rivers State would soon come to an end.

“In less than eight months from now, Amaechi will be made to answer for all his actions against President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.

“Wherever Amaechi likes, let him run to after his tenure as governor. We must surely get him to answer for all his libelous utterances, rascality and inciting public disorder against the president and his wife,” he said.

Bipi particularly made reference to the mega rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held in Port Harcourt, on Saturday, alleging that the governor expended the sum of N19 billion recently taken from the state fund reserves on the rally.

“For the record purpose, may I warn Amaechi to stop using the platform and resources of Rivers State for his personal interest. He spent a huge chunk of N19 billion of our common wealth on an extravagant APC rally,” he said.

The PDP lawmaker appealed to chiefs and leaders of Ubima community, Amaechi’s native home, to prevail on the governor to stop his attacks on the president in order for him to conclude the remaining months of his tenure peacefully.

“Let me warn that we will make the state ungovernable for him, not minding his immunity, if he does not refrain from this irresponsible action on the president and his wife,” Bipi added.
