ELECTIONS ‘LL SHOW STRENGTH OF PDP IN THE NORTH –JONATHAN

President Good¬luck Jonathan has said that the coming elections will prove wrong some of the movements that have sprung up against the party in some parts of the Northwest.
He said this on Saturday in Kano during the com¬missioning of the N2.5 billion flyover bridge at Kundila Roundabout in the state. The flyover is a Federal Government’s p
roject in the state.
The historic event was attended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Al¬haji Adamu Muazu, Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Min¬isters of Education and Foreign Affairs, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Al¬haji Bashir Aminu Wali, among other party top shots.

President Jonathan named the flyover bridge after the deceased Emir of Kano, Late Alhaji Ado Bayero adding that the foremost traditional ruler “was not known for controversy, he never played with the stool; he occupied that office with extreme dignity and gave honor to that office. We need to continue to re-member them.”
Recalling the impor¬tance of the ancient com¬mercial city to the econo¬my of the nation, he said: “Kano city is a great city in this country. Kano State is a very critical state in this country. That is why we have provided this bridge that flies over the Trans- Saharan high way, which is one of the most important roads that trans¬verses this country. This is a critical infrastructure that would help to promote commerce and industry in the state.”
In his remark, National Chairman of the PDP, Alh¬aji Adamu Muazu, charged the people of Kano State to vote for President Jonathan as well as all other candi¬dates of the party during the forthcoming polls.
