I WILL NOT EMBEZZLE FUNDS IF ELECTED - MAKU

Former minister and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has said that if elected, his administration will commit the security vote to the provision of water to rural communities. He said he will not squander the funds under “dubious and unknown expenditure headings”.
Maku said at least 10,
000 motorised boreholes would be provided by his administration from an estimated N4.8bn that would accrue to the state in the four years he will be at the helm of affairs. He said the state government receives N100m monthly as Security Vote from the Federation Accounts.
“I would never use these monies to buy property in foreign countries, thereby denying my people the opportunity of good life and security the way others are doing”, he said.
He said at least a minimum of 200 boreholes would be provided each month, adding that under him the state will know peace.
Maku, was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaji Abu Ibrahim, and the state party chairman, John Amakor.
