WIKE DECLARED WINNER OF RIVERS STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has been declared the new governor-elect of Rivers state.
Mr. Wike was returned as the governor-elect for the state by INEC Returning Officer, Orumense Faraday.

Wike defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Dakuku Peterside, with a total of 1,029,102 votes. Mr Peterside polled 124,896 votes
Meanwhile, APC has written a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling for the cancellation of the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
In a petition dated April 12, 2015 and signed by the state chairman of the party, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, APC alleged that the elections were fraught with irregularities.
