The Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation, Ahmadu Ali, has described the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, “as a septuagenarian with fossilised ideas of how to run a government and social engineering.”
He spoke at the inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mr. Ali, a former national chairman of the PDP, spoke about two weeks after the incumbent National Secretary of the party, Wale Oladipo, described Mr. Buhari as “semi-illiterate jackboot.”
At the launch of a book on President Goodluck Jonathan’s achievement in Abuja last month, the former PDP national chairman had also likened the APC presidential candidate to “an old plane that has been parked for long” whose functionality cannot be guaranteed.

NORTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE THAN SOUTH –AHMADU ALI
Former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Dr. Ahmadu Ali loves stoking controversy. In this chat , Ali who is a delegate to the ongoing National Conference spoke on a number of issues including the coup that brought late military leader, Gen Sani Abachi to the saddle. He claimed that the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, late Chief M.K.O Abiola invited Abacha to take over government.
As a former National Chairman of the PDP, where do you see the party landing with the sort of challenge it is getting from the APC?
It is good we are getting some challenge from the APC and that is the beauty of democracy. You cannot be dancing with one leg all the time, because in the political terrain of Nigeria, it will appear that PDP is always dancing on one leg. There is no second leg. Now that we have APC, it means there are two legs in the political system. You will now watch to know which leg dances better than the other. We are very happy that that has happened. I remember during our campaigns in 2007, General Obasanjo was worried that it was only PDP that was campaigning on air, on the road, on the sea. There was no other party and we got worried and had to find out what was happening to ANPP and later on they got up and started campaigning. We were happy. So, it is good these people have come up and we will deal with them adequately.

YORUBA TOTALLY UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE —AHMADU ALI
Former

some harsh words for Yoruba people of South West. According to him, the Yoruba

for them. He is particularly pained that the Yoruba do not appreciate what
former President Olusegun Obasanjo did for them.
The former chairman of the PDP also said that the Nigerian
Governors’ Forum (NGF) does not constitute a threat to the powers and authority
of the President.
In this interview, Ali revealed how those he described as
self-appointed Yoruba leaders have disappointed him. He spoke on these and
other issues.

ALI’S WIFE, OTHERS KICKED OUT OF PDP BOT
Wife of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman
Ahmadu Ali has been removed as member of the party’s board of trustees, a
source told Daily Trust yesterday.
A committee set up in January and headed by Professor Jerry
Gana deleted Dr. Marian Ali’s name from the register of BOT members saying her
membership is irregular.
A few others whose names could not be established yesterday
are also said to have been removed from the board because they are not up 50
years of age. The committee was set up to restructure the BOT and stipulate
guidelines for eligibility into the board as well as for electing its chairman.
