I RESIGNED AS PDP BOT CHAIR TO ALLOW JONATHAN TAKE OVER – TONY ANENIH

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih, has said his resignation Wednesday, was to allow President Goodluck Jonathan take over the position.
Mr. Anenih had earlier resigned his position citing the current state of affairs in the party as his reason.
In a one-page letter President Goodl
uck Jonathan, the leader of the party, Mr. Anenih said his decision to quit would enable the president to effectively assume the chairmanship of the BoT.
The letter dated May 20, 2015 and titled: “Notice of my decision to step down as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
Mr. Jonathan leaves office on May 29 following his defeat by his All Progressives Congress challenger, Muhammadu Buhari, in the March 28 presidential election.

BREAKING: PDP BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIRMAN, TONY ANENIH, RESIGNS

The National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said it has received the resignation of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Tony Anenih.
In accepting the resignation, the NWC noted the outstanding contributions of Mr. Anenih in the party over the years especially in his capacity as the Board of Trustees Chairman.
“As one of the founding fathers of the PDP, the NWC appreciates Chief Anenih’s guiding role in the party in the last 16 years and wish him well in his future endeavours,” the party said late Wednesday.

JONATHAN IS BEST PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ON PARADE —ANENIH

CHAIRMAN, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, has said President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best presidential material in the contest of February 14.
Chief Anenih, in a statement on Wednesday, said the achievements recorded by Jonathan across the states would made him to win the election conv
incingly.
“Fellow compatriots across Nigeria, with your support and a renewed mandate at the polls, ensure the re-election of President Jonathan, who is the best candidate in the forthcoming presidential election,” Chief Anenih said, adding that PDP would redouble its efforts in tackling Boko Haram and other vices after re-election.

JONATHAN’LL DEFEAT BUHARI – ANENIH

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih, has urged Nigerians not to be deceived that President Goodluck Jonathan will not secure a re-election in next month’s presidential election.
Anenih, who said this during a rally on Sunday in Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North-East Local Government of Edo State, noted that he ha
d recently visited some northern states and with what he saw, the PDP would emerge victorious in the February elections.
Also, present at the rally were the Minister for Works, Mike Onolemenmen, a chieftain of the party, Chief Tom Ikimi; state Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih and other state executive members.

ANENIH: MEDIA PRACTITIONERS SHOULD PROMOTE NATIONAL INTEREST

In continuation of what has been described as letter writing season, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, has written an Abuja-based publisher urging media practitioners and opinion leaders to always put the interest of the nation first in their publications.
Anenih made the call in a letter, dated January 17, 2014, addressed to the Chairman of the Leadership Group and Publisher of the Leadership newspaper, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah over the columnist’s back page article titled: “Is the President Aware That $10.8b Is Still Missing?” in the Monday, January 13, 2014 edition of the paper.

JONATHAN APPROVES CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE IN ANENIH’S HOMETOWN

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the establishment of a National Institute of Construction Technology in Uromi, Edo State.
The construction institute was situa
ted in the hometown of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih.
Vice President Namadi Sambo announced the approval during a special thanksgiving mass at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cathedral, Uromi, for the 80th birthday of Anenih, which was celebrated in Abuja on August 4, this year.
Sambo said the establishment of the institute was in appreciation of Anenih’s invaluable contributions to the socio-political and economic development of the nation by the federal government.

2015: ANENIH PROPOSES AUTOMATIC TICKETS FOR JONATHAN, GOVS

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, has asked members of the party to consider automatic tickets for President Goodluck Jonathan, performing governors and members of the National Assembly.
Chief Anenih, who stated this in a message delivered to a meeting of selected leaders of the party, on Friday, in Abuja, said that the proposal would ensure that the primaries of the party become less rancorous.

GOVS MUST USE SECURITY VOTES TO GET INFORMATION – ANENIH


The Chairman, Board of Trustee (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Anthony Anenih, has called on governors to use their security votes to gather information that will help curb the country’s security challenges.
Addressing a meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum in Abuja, Anenih said that using the fund was necessary, as the Federal Government alone could not guarantee security in the country.
“All of you are chief security officers of your states, the Federal Government alone cannot give all Nigerians security and everybody must be involved.
“The market women, governors, members of the National Assembly and councillors must all be involved.

I’M NOT A CORRUPT POLITICIAN - ANENIH


Former chairman,  Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, has disagreed with allegations that all Nigerian politicians are corrupt and are responsible for the underdevelopment of the country.
He responded to a presentation by the chairman, Safari Books Limited, Chief Joop Berkhout, German Publisher in Nigeria, who took a swipe on Nigerian politicians, alleging that they were the problem of the nation.
