A 49-year-old woman, Mrs Kudirat Busari, has told a court in Lagos how her hubby Mr Saliu Busari manhandles her anytime he sees her standing or talking with any man.
Mrs Busari, a food seller on Tuesday took her Mr. Saliu, husband of 29 years to a Grade A Customary Court, Alagbado, Lagos, seeking the dissolution of their marriage.
Kudirat, who resides at 9 Akewusola St., Agege, Lagos, accused her husband, Saliu Busari, 55, of constant beating, making false allegation against her and lack of care.
She said the husband was also fond pilfering meat from her pot lamenting that the last time she beat her it was over a piece of meat that left me severely injured.
“On March 22, Busari came to my shop when I was not in and
ordered my sales girl to give him meat, but the girl refused. This made my
husband to beat me severely that night when he came home. I am tired of beatings,’’
she told the court.
She said that apart from constant beatings, her husband falsely
accused her of adultery. “He beats me up any time he sees me standing with
another man,’’ Kudirat said.
She also accused her husband of not meeting his financial obligations
to the family, adding that there was no more love between them.
Kudirat said that she met Busari in 1983 at Papa Ashafa in
Agege, Lagos and they got married the same year and the marriage is blessed
with five children, four females and one male.
However, Busari denied all the claims, but agreed that there was
no more love between him and Kudirat.
The Court President, Mr M.O Jolaoso, has adjourned the case till
Sept. 10, for further hearing.
