POLICE have arrested four persons, including a driver who conspired with his blood brother to rob the 70-year-old father of his Lebanese employer, Ahamed Zein, owner of AJ Eatery, Warri, Delta State.
Three of the suspects who lodged in a hotel in Warri came from Lagos for the robbery operation.
The gang first struck at the house of Zein, but unknown to them,
the Lebanese was yet to return from his trip.
In anger, they stormed the residence of his father, Afif Zein,
who also runs a supermarket in the oil city and carted away an undisclosed sum
of money.
The patriarch of the Zein family was hit with the butt of
locally made gun and sustained severe injuries that led to his being reportedly
placed on oxygen at the intensive care unit of the University of Benin Teaching
Hospital, Benin City.
Our source said that luck ran out of the gang when the police at
Ekpan arrested one of the suspects and he spilled the beans on the driver and
others.
Divisional Police Officer, Ekpan, Mamman Sale Rijau, has
directed his men to carry out proper investigation on the matter.
