Another
bomb factory was yesterday evening uncovered by the Police in Kano who
have two suspects in their custody at their Bompai Headquarters. The factory was discovered at Hawan-Hotoro, located in the remote part of the
state capital. Also, assorted bomb manufacturing materials were also intercepted in the
operation, which was led by the Commissioner of Police Ibrihim Idris, who said
the local bomb making industry which has been cordoned off by mobile policemen
would be demolished.
Three vehicles, believed to be owned by the dreaded Boko Haram sect, were
intercepted and transferred to the Police Headquarters in Bompai.
Addressing journalists on the discovery, the Commissioner of Police, disclosed
that some of the materials uncovered in the bomb making factory were 100
detonators, which are the main primers for the construction of IEDs,
concentrated salt, which they mix with ammonium nitrate, T and T which is
a high calbre military chemical for bomb making, battery charger, lap tops,
finished IEDs, four AK 47 rifles and about eight fully loaded magazines.The Police boss commended the efforts of members of the public for offering useful information to the Police, stressing that the raid on flash points would be continuous until total peace is restored in the ancient city of Kano.
