Air Disaster Averted; IRS Plane Runs Into Truck On Runway In Lagos; Loses Right Wing


Another airplane disaster was averted on Wednesday morning at the Muritala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) in Lagos when an AIR Airline’s plane ran into a truck on the runway while trying to take off.

The plane which was billed to move passengers from the commercial city of Lagos to Abuja, the federal capital territory was made to abort the journey as a result of the incident.
Information on why the truck was on the run way and why relevant agencies’ personnel did not observe that it poses a great danger to aircraft and passengers remain sketchy.

But a source said investigation has  commenced to ascertain the extent of damage to the IRS plane and the reason for such negligence.

  1. I really do wonder at times how some of us Nigerians behave. Is no one in charge of ensuring that the runway is cleared both for landing and take-off? Did the truck park on the runway by itself or did a human being who is supposed to possess a brain park d truck wrongfully. Why am I getting all worked-up, knowing how we are in this country, people will shout about this ugly incident for two days and forget about it by the 3rd day, it is well!

  2. heard some people were actually furious over their missed appoinment.... like seriously???? are you kidding me??? How come authorities didnt see the damaged truck??? we thank God everybody is ok
