Arrangements have been concluded
for the final interment of the body of Cynthia Osokogu, on October 5, 2012. According to the statement issued by Kenneth Uchechukwu Osokogu,
on behalf of the family, it will be a quiet internment with only family and
close friends, noting that the Osokogu family has always been a quiet one.
“On behalf of the Osokogu family, I write to appreciate the
Nigerian media and the general public for their concern, support and care
during the disappearance and death of our daughter and sister, Cynthia-Valerie
Udoka Osokogu. Words alone cannot convey the depth of our gratitude for the
role you played in finding her and in the arrest of her suspected murderers.
“My family and I will lay our dear sister to rest by the Grace
of God on the October 5, 2012 in a private family internment ceremony. You will
recall that we had a public service of songs and requiem mass in her honour,”
it read in part.
The statement further said that the family would appreciate if
the wishes of the family for a private internment for Cynthia were respected.
Cynthia Osokogu was murdered on August 21, 2012, in Lagos by
friends she had met on Facebook.
