Senate Backs House, Insists On Oteh’s Sack

The Senate has joined the House of Representatives in calling for the removal of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Director-General, Ms. Arunmah Oteh, saying her continued stay in office could negatively affect the Nigerian Capital Market and the Nigerian economy at large.
Since her recall from suspension by the Executive in defiance to the resolution of the House of Representatives, there have been protests by employees of the agency against her style of administration.

The Senate Committee on Capital Markets in a release said rather than seeking ways to work harmoniously with employees, Ms. Oteh has continued with the same style of administration for which the presidential review committee had previously indicted her. The Senate Committee said it would not have any dealings with Ms. Oteh.
