FORMER
Head of State and Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change
(CPC) in the 2011 election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), Monday expressed
appreciation to President Goodluck Jonathan for personally calling him on
telephone and also sending an official condolence letter over the death of his
daughter, Hajiya Zulaihatu Junaidu.
Buhari
told Senate President David Mark who was at his residence in Kaduna to condole
him Monday, that he was overwhelmed by President Jonathan’s action in consoling
him at this moment of grief.
Buhari,
while also expressing his appreciation to the Senate President for extending
his condolence to the rest of Buhari family, described Mark as someone he had
enjoyed a long time relationship with right from his days as Governor of Niger
State.
Besides,
the Senate President was accompanied by Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa,
his predecessor, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi and Senator representing Kaduna
Central zone, Gen. Sani Saleh, and former House of Representatives Speaker,
Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari.
