Nigeria Offers Reward For Capture Of Boko Haram Leaders
Nigeria’s military on Friday offered millions of naira[ hundreds
of thousands of dollars] in rewards for information leading to the capture of
leaders of Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.
A statement listed 19 alleged senior
members of the extremist group blamed for hundreds of deaths in connection with
its insurgency in northern and central Nigeria.
The rewards ranged from 50 million
naira ($317,000, 245,000 euros) for the suspected leader of the group, Abubakar
Shekau, to 10 million naira for various Boko Haram “commanders”.

N250b suit: I have legislative immunity, Lawan tells court
The
suspended Chairman of the House Ad Hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy Regime, Mallam
Farouk Lawan, yesterday asked the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory
to strike out a N250billion suit against him and three others by a businessman,
Mr. Femi Otedola, because he has legislative immunity.
Otedola
and his company, Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited had sued the Speaker of the
House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and the suspended Chairman of the
House Committee on Fuel Subsidy Regime for N250billion.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde, lamented on

certificate of return earlier issued by the Lagos State Independent Electoral
Commission to the Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate in the October 22,
2011 poll, Dr. Augustine Arogun.
The tribunal held that
Akande polled the highest number of valid votes in the election.

new book by Pope Benedict VI has cast doubts on the date of the birth of Jesus
Christ.
The book, ‘Jesus of Nazareth: The

The book is the third and last

Aduba, has said.
