When MayD quit Square Records last year, the exact reason for the action was not disclosed, and it left fans jumping to varying conclusions.
The
duo, Peter and Paul Okoye, refused to say a word about 'the Split', so did
MayD, whose role in the duo’s "Chop My Money" earned him a feat in
the music industry.
In this video released online a few
hours ago, Jude "Engees" Okoye, brother and manager of P-Square,
discloses why MayD had to quit Square Records.
The Square Records boss says: "We
sign in artistes as our way of giving back to the society, and by the time they
become known, we let them be. However, when MayD came in, he wanted more than
that. He wanted to be P-Square, a name that we have struggled to be build for
years…"
