GOV SUNTAI’S FAMILY VACATES GOVT HOUSE

In spite of claims by some political appointees in Taraba state that Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai is fast recovering, his family members have quietly moved his personal belongings out of Government House, Jalingo.
A dependable source close to the Government House, who was part of the officials that participated in evacuating the personal property of the ailing governor, told our correspondent that official Hilux vans were used in the exercise.
In the same vein, personal effects of some of Suntai’s security personnel were equally moved out of the house.

It was gathered that some of the property that included his clothing and household items were taken to his private residence close to the Specialist Hospital, Jalingo.
Similarly, about 13 of Suntai’s private cars were said to have been driven to one of his houses situated at No. 1, Suntai Street, Karewa-Yola, Adamawa state, in a motorcade on Sunday night.
While Suntai’s personal belongings were moved out of Government House in the night, those of his Chief Security Officer (CSO), ADC and Chief Detail were moved out in broad daylight.
It was also gathered that the state’s First Lady, Mrs. Hauwa Suntai, met with the wives of members of the state House of Assembly, commissioners and chairmen of local government councils in the state during which she formally introduced the wife of the acting governor to her invitees as the new First Lady of the state.
It was further gathered that Mrs. Suntai pleaded with her loyalists to give Mrs. Garba Umar the needed cooperation she enjoyed during her tenure.
Attempts made to reach Mrs. Suntai, who returned to the country about two weeks ago, proved abortive as her two lines were switched off when Blueprint called.
Also, attempts made to get the state Commissioner for information, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, to comment on the development did not yield any fruitful result as he did not pick his calls.
