The newly appointed Commander
Infantry Corps, Major General Kenneth Minimah has resumed duty in
Jaji. The new commander, who took over from Major General Keneth Osuji who has
been acting at the corps headquarters in Jaji, was until his appointment,
the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division (GOC), Lagos.
General Minimah, a thorough
bred Infantry Officer, who was commissioned into the Corps of Infantry
after his Cadetship training in the famous Nigerian Defence Academy, is
regarded as an amiable General who has meritoriously held several
appointments at command, staff officer and instructor level, especially in
Jaji, known as home of Infantry.
Speaking at the handing
and taking over ceremony, the new Commander, expressed satisfaction with
the security put in place in Jaji Military Cantonment after the unfortunate
incident of bomb blast of November 25 2012, adding that his major task is to
ensure that the corps takes its pride of place.
” I want to ensure that
Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army occupies a pride of place in the nation.
This is a task that must be done. So, I want to take Infantry Corps to a
greater height,” he said..
Earlier, the out-going Acting
Commander, Maj. Gen Osuji expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation
enjoyed from officers and soldiers at the Headquarters. He urged them to
extend the same cooperation to the new commander.
