Following injuries sustained by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo
State in an auto crash Friday at Orlu, the governor has undergone MRI test in a
London hospital.
Commissioner for Information Culture and
Tourism Mr Chinedu Offor told Sunday Trust that the governor was flown to
London Friday for treatment of the injuries he had in the accident.
He said the MRI test is on the governor’s head to determine the degree of impact adding that this is aimed at making sure that the governor fine before he resumes work. He was optimistic that the governor will come back soon.
Okorocha was flown to London from Port Harcourt airport. The governor was
on Friday involved in auto crash in Orlu while on inspection of road projects
in the area. He said the MRI test is on the governor’s head to determine the degree of impact adding that this is aimed at making sure that the governor fine before he resumes work. He was optimistic that the governor will come back soon.
A flat booth Mercedes 200 ran into his convoy, having a head on collision with the governor’s car leading to his sustaining a cut on his scalp.
The governor who was bandaged on the head said that he was stable and strong but would seek further medical attention due to the level of impact on him.
Imo State Commissioner of Police Mohammed Katsina who described the accident as minor said he had dispatched the police investigation team to ascertain the cause of the accident and would give further information on the matter as soon as the investigations are concluded.
