CRIME CAN’T BE WIPED OUT FROM SOCIETY-IGP

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar has said crime cannot be exterminated from society.
He said however that security agencies would not step-down efforts in fighting all forms o
f criminality despite setbacks.
Abubakar spoke to newsmen yesterday in Abuja after the decoration of some newly promoted senior police officers including four Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs).
“Crime is not something you can exterminate, nobody exterminates crime anywhere in the world, if you are talking of no crime, you are talking of total paralysis,” he said.

The IGP added that: “In the war against terror, tell me any country in the world that fights terror and say it is finished and then no more terrorism again.
“No country exists without it [terror] including the U.S where they have the best of facilities, trained officers and men, and military personnel,’’ he said.
