NATIONAL CONFERENCE: ACF KICKS AGAINST INCLUSION OF ETHNIC NATIONALITIES

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has kicked against the inclusion of ethic nationalities for participation in the proposed National conference, saying it will not bring about the desired unity but will polarise the country along ethnic lines.
Several groups, especially minority ethnic groups across the country have advocated for the inclusion of ethnic nationalities to participate in the conference, noting that it will provide an opportunity for them to voice out their feelings about the issues affecting the Nigerian nation.
However, the ACF in a communique issued at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Kaduna, maintained that representation on the basis of equality of geopolitical zones, or of states or of ethnic nationalities, was too divisive for furthering the cause of national unity.
