Former governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Agagu has been buried at his home town, in Iju-Odo, Okitipupa local government.
Earlier in the day, a funeral service was held at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Iju Odo.
In attendance was his wife, other immediate family members, former governors Alao Akala of Oyo state, Segun Oni of Ekiti state and Gbenga Daniel of Ogun state.
The officiating Reverend, and Bishop of the Diocese, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Ebun Ogunle, asked every one present to always live a life worthy of emulation.
He says only God can determine the length of time one will live on earth and when the journey will be terminated. He also prayed for all those who lost their lives in the Associated Airlines crash.
President Good luck Jonathan was represented at the funeral service by the Police Affairs Minister, Caleb Olubolade.
Agagu was laid to rest in the grounds of the Anglican cemetery in Iju Odo at about 4 o’clock.
The tragic Associated Airlines flight Embraer 120 marked 5n-bjy which was conveying the body of the late governor to Akure, the Ondo state capital, with 20 passengers on board, , crashed on the premises of the Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
13 people are said to have died, and seven survived.
