The federal government has said that it would not allow any foreign flag to be hoisted in any part of the country.
Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, disclosed this yesterday at the National Information Centre reacting to questions on the reported hoisting of their flag in some northeast villages by the sect.
He said the military was not aware of any flag hoisted anywhere.
“There is no way the country will allow the hoisting of any flag that is not the Nigeria’s national flag as this will undermine the integrity of the nation,” he said.
The spokesman also revealed that the Nigeria security agencies have arrested one of the suspects of the latest Jos bomb blast which killed over 100 persons. The suspect whose identity was not immediately disclosed is said to be assisting the security agencies in the investigation.
“On the Jos bomb blast, a suspect has been apprehended and in custody and has been giving lead to subsequent aspect of the investigation. The progress of the investigation would be made known to the public.”
