GUBER CAMPAIGN: PALACE SHUTS DOORS AGAINST FAYEMI

Governor Kayode Fayemi was prevented from paying homage to the traditional ruler of Afao-Ekiti during his campaign tour to the area at the weekend as the palace gate was reportedly shut against the governor.
Although no reason was given for the action, but the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization (KFCO) alleged that it was carried out on the instructions of former governor Ayo Fayose, who hails from the area, also the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the June 21 election.

The KFCO further alleged that the former governor locked the monarch inside his (Alafao) palace to prevent him from hosting Fayemi in his palace.
But Fayose denied that the palace’s doors were shut against Fayemi on his instruction, describing the governor as a liar who has been ruling the state in deceit.
A statement by the Publicity Secretary of Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation (AFCO), Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said “Ayo Fayose did not have discussion with anybody so that the monarch should not receive Fayemi.
