‘TAMBUWAL KICKS OFF PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN IN AUGUST’

All is set for House of Representatives’ Speaker, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, to begin his race for the Presidency in August, National Mirror gathered at the weekend.
The Speaker, though still
assembling his presidential project team, is said to have a solid backing across the country.
“We will wait after till the long break of the National Assembly commences in July¬, but I can assure you that by August he (the Speaker) will begin to reach out”, a source said.
The Speaker, who is likely to run on the platform of the All Progressives’ Congress, APC, is said to have the backing of northern emirs and even some top politicians in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

A senior senator from one of the North-Eastern states, is said to be heavily financing the Tambuwal project.
Other politicians, National Mirror learnt, would also join the fray for the speaker as the campaign progresses from July.
Though Tambuwal is still in the PDP, he is believed to have the sympathy of all parties across board, especially the APC, where he might pitch his tent later this year, and other members are also expected to join him.
The Speaker has, however, vehemently denied that he was interested in the opposition.
But Tambuwal, who has reportedly built a network of friends across the nation, is said to have used his speakership, through the years, to build a team he could latch on to clinch the presidential slot in 2015.
His frosty relationship with President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to worsen in the coming weeks when more political bigwigs are expected to openly identify with his presidential race.
