BOKO HARAM: FG DEPLOYS 500 TROOPS TO NORTH EAST

THE Federal Government has confirmed that about 500 armed security operatives had been deployed to the north-east to contain insurgency in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states.
The Coordinator of National Information Centre (NIC), Mr. Mike Omeri made this known Thursday while briefing newsmen on the current security situation in the country, in Abuja.
He said that the deployment of the troops was contrary to the rumours that there was no presence of military in the affected states.
Omeri reiterated that normalcy had returned to Mubi and other cities claimed to have been taken over by the Boko Haram sect.“We just have one issue today about reinforcement of military troop as part of the effort to check and caution book haram sect challenge in the country, the Nigeria military has continue to enforce its presence in the in challenges communities in the north east.
“Contrary to the media reports striking of some town in Adamawa state such as Mubi military have confirmed the new redeployment of more than 500 troops to support the expectation around that area including Gulak, Michika among other we believed with this commitment and effort the situation will be brought under control.
“Meanwhile the situation report indicates that Mubi town is calm while troop including the police and other service are on patrol there", Omeri noted.
