Former Head of State and All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential aspirant in the 2015 general election, General Muhammadu Buhari, has lamented challenging security problem facing the country and call for a change in political baton come 2015 general election.
Speaking yesterday in Katsina, Buhari said the challenge posed by Boko Haram in particular, showed that the Federal Government had become overwhelmed in tackling the terrorist group.
He said there were initial reports that the Federal Government was negotiating with the group, he however, said that subsequent developments cast doubts on the authenticity of such negotiations.
Buhari spoke during the All Progressive Congress, APC, mega rally on Permanent Voters Card, PVC, and Continuous Voters’ Registration, CVR, at the Polo Ground in the state metropolis.
The former Head of State said the only way to address the country’s security and related challenges was for the electorates to come out and fully participate in the forthcoming issuing of PVC and CVR.
He also called on people at the event, to ensure that they obtain their voters card as well as spread the word to others, as doing so would help them to participate and elect quality leaders.
On his part, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, said the only way to ensure change and vote out a corrupt government is for the electorate to get their PVCs which would empower them to vote those that would protect their interest.
Amaechi assured the readiness of the APC, to participate in the 2015 elections and for enlightening of its members to vote into offices, tested and capable people. The occasion was attended by several prominent APC members including Speaker House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, his predecessor, Aminu Bello Masari, former FCT Minister, Nasiru El-rufai, among others.
