Members of the House of Representatives will cut short their five weeks break to resume on Thursday to consider President Goodluck Jonathan's request for the extension of the state of emergency declared in three north east states.
Jonathan had on Monday approved the extension of the emergency rule by a period of another six months in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States.
A source told Daily Trust that the lawmakers would reconvene purposely to consider Jonathan's request since the emergency rule will expire on Thursday.
The emergency rule was first declared in May last year and was extended twice, first in November, 2013 and later in May this year.
