WAMAKKO’S SUPPORT FOR TAMBUWAL UNSETTLES SOKOTO APC

Fresh facts emerged yesterday that the move by the Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Wamakko to support embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal is tearing apart the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The battle for the seat has consequently shifted to the Government House and the residence of the governor as lobbyists have turned it to their haven.
Wamakko’s seemingly endors
ement of Tambuwal has however attracted criticisms from PDP key stakeholders and other aspirants who see the move as gross injustice to those who have built the party in the state.
One of the strong contenders for the office is the current Commissioner of Local Government and Community Development, Farouk Malami Yabo, who built a political structure and enjoys mass followership.
But his major obstacle is his boss (the governor) who does not hide his preference for Tambuwal.

Many of the residents who spokes to our reporter said Governor Wamakko should also look at the possibility of Farouk as alternative to clinch the seat in 2015 general election as already Matawalle is power drunk for now, but with Yabo he would have soft landing and also control the politics in Sokoto if he so wishes.
Out of the four aspirants for the governorship seat, none has indicated interest to withdraw from the race.
Another confusion is the endorsement of Mattawale Hon. Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has triggered another battle fighting, As majority of the contenders vying for the said seat of Caliphate have been trooping the resident of the Governor lobbying for the seat of Caliphate.
In a swift reaction, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC Sokoto State Chapter Alhaji Aminu Bello Sokoto has said that politics is a game of number, saying he would not take side, but everybody who emerged would have his support at the forthcoming general elections.
