The Election Viability Report revealed that Ekiti State, with 97 per cent, tops the list among states that would actively participate in the election, followed by Katsina, Bauchi and Niger States, respectively.
The report, which was presented on Thursday, in Abuja, by the foundation’s Executive Director, Kemi Okenyodo, rated Ondo, Yobe, Sokoto and Benue states high, among states perceived to be violent, during the election.
However, the foundation volunteered to partner security operatives so as to enhance voters’ safety, during the elections.
Also, it recommended adequate public enlightenment to encourage adults participate in the poll, advising that security measures be enhanced around polling units and collation centres.
Earlier, the Country Director of OSIWA, Mr Jude Ilo said the partnership was critical to assess perception of the electorates, ahead of the election.
According to him, the poll was aimed at engaging people on what was expected from the government to conduct a free, fair and credible poll.
He pointed out that the major role of the military, which includes protecting lives, rather than being used arbitrarily for the poll.
“Anything less than 100 per cent patriotism to this election will be a great disservice to Nigeria. I hope that the result of the poll conducted by Cleen will make our election successful,” Ilo added.
