Oshiomhole who was reacting to speculations on where the wife hails from during their wedding held on Friday said, “I have seen a lot of publications; some saying that she is Philipino, Dutch and several others. But she is from Cape Verde. And that is part of West Africa. And I hope that rests the debate of where she is from.”
He also took time to describe his new wife, Ilara Fortes, saying she is an understanding, caring and loving lady.......More stories and pics after the cut..The governor who spoke with journalists during the wedding held in his Iyamho country home said, ”She is very humble, she appreciates the nature of my job and life that it is one that one comes back home late. Some times 3am. She understands my weaknesses, she is more or less the mother of the house. The one that has accepted to be the mother of my children.”
An elated Oshiomhole was also happy to see notable members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mingle with those of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the occasion. He said it is an indication that Nigerians can never be divided based political differences.
“One is also happy that I have friends across all political divide. The occasion reminds me that across all divides we have friends and we’ll wishers,” he said.
