ADAMAWA RECEIVED N21 BN IN THREE MONTHS, I LEFT N700M — FINTIRI

The sacked Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, has denied plundering the state to the tune of N18billion, as alleged by those he described as detractors and political foes.
Mr. Fintiri, who addressed a press conference Tuesday evening in Yola, said his administration had an income of over N21 billion in his three-month te
nure, out of which N20 billion was expended.
Mr. Fintiri said he left over N708 million in the state coffers, and insisted that he followed due process in the award of contracts for projects during the period of his stay as acting governor.
There have been unsubstantiated reports that the former acting governor squandered billions of state funds.

FINTIRI RETURNS TO ASSEMBLY AS SPEAKER

Sacked acting Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has returned to the State House of Assembly as the Speaker.
Fintiri was the Speaker of the Assembly, which masterminded the impeachment of former Governor Murtala Nyako in July.
In a separate development, Fintiri has thanked the people of the state for the ” tremendous support” they gave him during his two
months and three weeks’ tenure as acting governor.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Solomon Kumangar, in Yola, on Thursday, the ex-acting governor said he had reverted to his position as the Speaker while still pursuing his appeal against his removal as acting governor.
He expressed appreciation to “the youth, women, elders, stakeholders, the political and working class” for their support.

NYAKO’S IMPEACHMENT: N250M DONATION SPLITS ADAMAWA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

Trouble is said to be brewing in Adamawa State House of Assembly over the alleged disbursement of N250 million to facilitate the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako.
The money, it was alleged, was to be shared to the 25 members to ginger them to impeach the governor, who, recently, accused President Goodluck Jonathan of committing genocide against the North in the name of fighting terrorism.
Each member of the House was to receive N10 million of the money said to have been given to a member of the Adamawa House of Assembly by a popular governor in the country.

‘WE’RE NYAKO’S SUPERIORS IN APC’

Two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Adamawa State, General Buba Marwa and Engr. Markus Nathina Gundiri have disputed the position of Governor Murtala Nyako that all members of APC are equal saying members of the Legacy Parties are superior to new entrants to the party.
A raging debate has ensued between Governor Nyako who recently defected to the APC and the members of the Legacy Parties over leadership of the party with Nyako’s camp claiming leadership being the state governor a position that was countered by the Legacy Parties.
