JONATHAN IS TOO PATIENT — EX- GOV AKALA

* Says S/West people are not happy with APC
* ’ Why Ajimobi will not get second term’
Otunba Christopher Alao- Akala was governor of Oyo State between 2007 and 2011 when he vacated office for the pre
sent governor, Chief Abiola Ajimobi shortly after that year gubernatorial election. Penultimate Thursday, Akala formally declared his interest to run for the office of the governor of his state.
In this interview, shortly before the declaration, Akala said his entrance into the gubernatorial race is in the interest of the people whom he claimed have been clamoring for his return, because, according to him,” it is one thing to scratch somebody’s back,it is another thing to scratch the body where it is itching him”.

ALAO-AKALA: WHY I WANT TO COME BACK AS OYO GOVERNOR

• Pleads for forgiveness
A former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, yesterday pleaded for forgiveness from those he offended while he was governor of the state between 2007-2011, saying “none of our actions were deliberate or personal vendetta.”
To this end, the Ogbomoso-born ex-police officer has given reasons why he is contesting
for the governorship seat of the state again.
By next election in 2015, it would be almost four years after he left the saddle following the defeat by the incumbent, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the then defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and now All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alao-Akala, at the official declaration of his intention in the gubernatorial election of the state under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said in the last few months, he had received emissary from across the state, urging him to come out once again and contest for the post of the governor of the state.

WITHOUT ME, PDP IS FINISHED IN OYO — ALAO-AKALA

Former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State is a strong pillar of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State and beyond. Though he lost his re-election quest he was not disgraced as Oyo State became the only state in the Southwest region to return a PDP senator and members of the House of Representatives in 2011.
In this interview in Ibadan, he addresses issues on the PDP structure in Oyo, his political future and his position in Oyo politics. Excerpts:
IT seems as if the PDP is waking up after the crisis instigated by the controversies around Bamanga Tukur.
Yes, the new national chairman of the PDP is an experienced man who will take the party to the next level. It is just like a footballer who is put on a reserve bench watching others play. When he is eventually brought on to the pitch, he would play like a coach. The man has been brought in to do damage control which I believe he is going to do effectively. He has started. He knows what to do.He knows how to tackle it. PDP will be there. What is happening now is normal especially when elections are drawing near. It is not new to people like us.

ANYONE WHO SAYS I BLEACH IS STUPID –ALAO-AKALA

Excerpt from Punch interview

Is it part of your own fashion to bleach?

Bleach? That is stupidity; you are asking a very stupid question, how can I bleach? You are very stupid to ask that question. What do you mean by that? What gave you that impression?
(He pulled up his clothe and singlet to show his fair complexion.)

Is this bleaching? Have you seen the cream that I use that makes me bleach or did you know me when I was black? So if you want to write that, put it there that I said you are very stupid to ask me that kind of question. Don’t ask that kind of question again. What you don’t know; you ask. You don’t even know my parents. Is my wife complaining or my children? I don’t know what gave anybody the impression that I bleach. You don’t know me; do you know what it takes to bleach?
