BUHARI, APC CAN’T OFFER NIGERIANS CHANGE – BALARABE MUSA

Second Republic governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa has said that with the lingering crisis in the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, cannot offer Nigerians the desired change.
He said the leadership tussle in the federal legislature had put Buhari and the APC apart, and likened the president to a leader presiding over a house and country on fire.
The eminent politician feared that if Buhari and the APC failed to unite and end the confusion in the National Assembly, it would lead to a constitutional crisis because the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which is the minority party, would take over the leadership of the legislature.
In an exclusive interview with Nigerian Pilot in Kaduna at the weekend, Balarabe Musa said if the PDP takes over the National Assembly leadership, there would be a constitutional crisis because it was illegal for a minority party to be in charge of the legislature.

Former civilian governor of old Kaduna State and national chairman of the de-registered Peoples Re¬demption Party (PRP), Alhaji Balarabe Musa has described the victory of Gen. Muhammadu Bu¬hari in the March 28 presidential poll as lacking popular mandate.
In an interview with Saturday Sun, Balarabe Musa said without mincing words that it was unwise to conclude that out of 70 million registered vot¬ers; only 28 million Nigerians that voted could not be said to amount to a popular mandate.
However, the former governor said the election victory was only accepted for the sake of peace, adding that the candid advice he could give to the president-elect was for him to form a government of national unity to encompass every political party so as to make the mandate more popular.

NIGERIA’LL BECOME ONE-PARTY STATE UNDER APC – BALARABE MUSA

Second Republic governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has predicted that the current mass defection of politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress will turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
Musa, in an interview with our correspondent on Wednesday, said in the coming days, especially after the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, the APC would grow stronger and take the status of the PDP while the outgoing ruling party would fade away gradually.
He said, “What is happening is democratic and it is inevitable, if you take into account the way the APC emerged. Almost right from the beginning the APC was 70 per cent of PDP defectors. This practice started even before the APC.

FEBRUARY POLLS SHOULD NOT HOLD—BALARABE MUSA

You once predicted that the February elections may not hold. Many people now seem to agree with you. But first, what is your view on the allegation that the presidential candidate of the opposition APC, Major General Muhamadu Buhari (rtd), is not qualified for the election based on the questions raised on his secondary school certificate?
The allegation is stupid and foolish and mere politics to tarnish the image of a retired general and the Nigerian Army. Gen. Buhari has explained this to the satisfaction of all reasonable people. First; he has secondary education. In other words, he attended secondary school with his last exam written with five credits. Second, he swore to an affidavit to the fact that he had secondary school education which should ideally end the issue.

BALARABE MUSA PROPOSES ALTERNATIVE TO PDP, APC CANDIDATES

A case has been made for the emergence of a credible presidential candidate who would be an alternative to those of the two major political parties in the 2015 elections.
This proposal was made in Abuja by the national leader of the Credible Alternative Alliance (CAA), Balarabe Musa, who accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of frustrating opposition parties by denying some Nigerians the opportunity to contest in elections.
The one-time Governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, is proposing the coming together of all other parties left out of the APC merger.
He complained that the emergence of the new party, which would be an alternative to the current two major political parties in the country, had been faced with challenges allegedly created by the electoral commission.

NIGERIA’S FUTURE GLOOMY UNDER JONATHAN -BALARABE

A former Governor of Kaduna State and leader of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, said on Saturday that the future of Nigeria under the President Goodluck Jonathan-led government is gloomy.

The former governor noted that the way the country was being governed showed that Jonathan was incapable of running the affairs of Nigeria, arguing that even the president’s sympathisers had come to terms with the reality.

Musa, who claimed that neither the All Progressives Congress nor the Peoples Democratic Party could produce the president in 2015, said his party, the Peoples Redemption Party, though deregistered by INEC, had gone into merger with other political parties to form the next government.

The military’s sudden retraction of its earlier statement that some of the girls allegedly abducted by Boko Haram have been released has elicited reactions from prominent Nigerians.
Angered by the development, former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa said the action of the military was an indication that they have been fooling Nigerians on the reported progress they claimed to have made against the insurgent.
“This is a painful, doubtful and incompetent posture by the military. It is indeed an exhibition of incompetent strategy.
“It shows that those that appointed the service chiefs, those dishing out orders to the commanders and the troopes were not competent and they thrive on falsehood.
“I have argued that military occupation alone cannot achieve any meaningful result. The way out is to co-opt the people through a free and fair election that will usher in competent hands that will appoint competent persons to take charge of the nation’s security,” the former governor said.
