MAN DIES WHILE HAVING MARATHON SEX WITH VARSITY STUDENT

A middle-aged man (name withheld), at the weekend, slumped and died while having marathon sex with a female student of Ebonyi State University.
The incident, it was gathered, happened 
at the girl’s hostel room at the Presco campus of the university, Abakaliki, the capital city.
An eyewitness, who prefers anonymity, told the Nigerian Tribune that the man died inside the room of the said female student located near Goddy Ogbaga Avenue.
It was also gathered that the lover-girl, after the incident, took the body of the deceased to his car, before proceeding to report the incident to the police.
She was immediately arrested and is currently helping the police in the investigation of the incident.

CALLING TEACHER NICKNAME NOT ENOUGH TO FLOG MY CHILD — EBONYI COMMISIONER

The commissioner for Culture and Tourism of Ebonyi State Mr Hyacinth Ikpo has declared as illegal the flogging of his child for calling a female teacher with Urban Secondary School Abakaliki-Mrs Thelma Nweke by nickname.
The commissioner’s child was said to have engaged in acts of indiscipline and ridiculing of the teacher by drawing cartoon image on the board and labeled it the teacher’s name.
It was gathered that when the teacher came to the class to teach her subject, she saw the drawing on the board with her name, and inquired who made the drawing.
After several threats to punish the students, they confessed that the drawing was done by the Commissioner’s child and consequently the school authority ordered her to flog the child but she declined which prompted another teacher to flog the child.

EBONYI DEMOTES LECTURERS WITH FAKE DOCTORATE, MASTERS DEGREES

The Ebonyi State Government has demoted 15 lecturers from its College of Education for possessing forged Doctorate and Masters Certificates.
The lecturers were suspended in March
, while the matter was being investigated.
An internal memo obtained by PREMIUM TIMES showed that the lecturers claimed to have obtained their dubious degrees from local study centres of two American Universities: Montclair State University’s African Institute Global Critical Creative and Caring Community of Inquiry (AICCOCCOI), Enugu, and Pacific West University’s Macbes Global Studies Center, Owerri.

15 LECTURERS DEMOTED FOR HAVING FAKED PH.D DEGREES CERTIFICATE IN EBONYI



ABAKALIKI — NO fewer than 15 lecturers of Ebonyi State College of Education, Ikwo were weekend, demoted over alleged involvement in certificate forgery and for claiming to have acquired Ph.D degrees from reputable institutions outside the country.
Management of the college, on receipt of the report and recommendations of the committee set up to look into the alleged claims by the lecturers, said the exercise was not meant to witch-hunt anybody in particular but to ensure sanity and discipline within the education sector in the state.
At a press briefing in Abakaliki, Special Adviser to Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State on Higher Education, Professor Mike Ituma, revealed that the discovery came as a shock, stressing that the action of the affected lecturers was a reflection of the level of decay ravaging the sector.

ELECHI DETHRONES 4 TRADITIONAL RULERS


Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi state has dethroned four traditional rulers in Ishielu local government of the state for allegedly sabotaging the efforts of government from reclaiming the Nigeria Cement Company (NIGERCEM) Nkalagu.
The affected traditional rulers include; HRH Eze Mathias Nnaji of Nkalagu; HRH Eze Michael Egbo of Amaezu community; Prince Benjamin Onwa, Regent of Umuhuali community and Prince  Augustine Okwor, regent of Nkalaha community.
The governor alleged that the traditional rulers colluded with Ibeto group to disparage the state government and sabotage its efforts to stem the organized decimation of Nigercem.

EBONYI DEPUTY SPEAKER IMPEACHED OVER IMPROPER DRESSING


Ebonyi House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Valentine Okike, on Thursday suffered the fate of his first boss, Speaker Ikechukwu Nwankweo, as he was sacked by the 24- member House.
His sin was said to be alleged insubordination, promotion of disaffection among members and improper dressing to official functions.
Chris Usulor, representing Ezza South constituency, who moved the motion for his impeachment, noted that Okike was fond of committing gross insubordination against the leadership of the House, causing disaffection among members and dressing improperly to official functions.
