FANI-KAYODE ACQUITTED OF FRAUD CHARGES, CHANGES NAME TO OLUKAYODE AFTER COURT VICTORY

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has been acquitted of fraud charges by a Federal High court sitting in Lagos.
The presiding judge Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia said the case against him was not strong enough and that prosecutor did not provide “copious evidence” that could link Fani-Kayode to money laundering.
The former spokesperson for the failed re-election campaign of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan said his acquittal was a gift from God and changed his name to Oluwafemi Oluwakayode as a mark of respect to God.
“As a mark of honour and respect for the Lord and as an everlasting testimony of my love for and dedication to him, I wish to make it known to the Nigerian public that as from today my name will be changed. It will no longer be David Oluwafemi Fani-Kayode but instead, it shall be David Oluwafemi Olukayode. Olukayode means “the Lord has brought me joy” and today he has done precisely that.”

She told the court on that she could not deliver judgment in the case, as earlier scheduled, owing to the absence of the lead prosecution counsel, Mr. Festus Keyamo, in court.

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday took a new dimension as the Director of Media and Publicity of the party’s presidential campaign organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, described some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party as traitors, ingrate andcowards not deserving of their offices.
Fani-Kayode dismissed the allegations of hate campaigns allegedly orchestrated by the campaign directorate as one of the reasons why President Goodluck Jonathan lost the presidential election and indeed PDP losing the general election.
He called on the NWC members to resign if they have any modicum of dignity as some Labour leaders did after losing elections in the United Kingdom.
Fani-Kayode also accused the NWC of using hate campaigns against the All Progressives Congress (APC) as it described APC as a ‘Janjaweed’ and Taliban party.
The National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh, had last week said President Jonathan lost the presidential election because of the hate campaigns introduced by the presidential campaign organisation of the party.

I WILL REMAIN IN PDP - FEMI FANI-KAYODE

The spokesperson for President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team, Femi Fani-Kayode says he will remain in the PDP despite the party's loss at the just concluded presidential election. Fani-Kayode, who served as the spokesperson for the PDP Presidential campaign organization said he won't run away from Nigeria & that he and some other party members will stay to form a viable opposition party. He spoke to the press after the handover of the presidential campaign report in Abuja yesterday.

"I have been in the PDP since 2003. I went to APC for 9 months. I have enunciated the reasons for that. I feel I was absolutely right to do that at that point in time. I retraced my steps when it was very clear to me that what was on the other side was far worse than what was on our side. We made our point. The necessary concession was made. There was far more South western participation. It was a much more fairer fight against Boko Haram and that is why we came back and I came back and I played a leading role in this campaign. We are not going anywhere. I can speak for myself and I can speak for may others. We are here to stay. We will provide a viral opposition to the APC . We will do all that needs to be done to ensure the incoming government remains on its toes and we will all do this in a peaceful and honorable way. Nobody is going anywhere as far as I am concerned. We are here to stay and neither are we running away. There is nothing to be scared of" he said.

FANI-KAYODE: I STILL HOLD JONATHAN IN HIGH ESTEEM

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, on Sunday said he still held President Goodluck Jonathan in high esteem contrary to a report currently being circulated on the social media.
The former minister, who was the Director, Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation, made the remarks in a statement by his Special Assistant, Jude Ndukwe, thereby debunking a report which quoted him as saying that the president “is leaving legacy of destruction and disaster.”
Fani-Kayode, however, acknowledged that he made the comments on “April 25, 2013, during sojourn of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
He said the report “does not, in any way, represent his opinion of Jonathan whom he holds in very high esteem, a fact that made the former minister of aviation work so vigorously for the president as Director, Media and Publicity of his campaign organisation in the just concluded presidential election.

FEMI FANI-KAYODE RELEASES STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Ladies and gentlemen of the media,

We have come here today to express our gratitude to the Nigerian people for the overwhelming support that we received over the last few weeks when it comes to the issue of the Presidential election.

We fought a virile, strong, aggressive and very effective campaign on behalf of our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan and we put the case to the Nigerian people as to why we believe that he ought to have been elected as President for a second term.

ARREST FANI KAYODE NOW, APC URGES

The Buhari Support Organisations (BSO) has called for the arrest of Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, the Director, Media, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation for announcing unofficial results.
The Director, Media and Information of the BSO, Dr Chidia Maduekwe, made the call on Monday in Abuja at a news conference.
According to Maduekwe, this is the time for security agencies to show their neutrality by arresting Fani-Kayode because the only authority to announce election results is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The organisation claimed that Fani-Kayode had breached relevant sections of the Electoral Act by announcing on Sunday that the PDP was leading in the presidential election in 23 states of the Federation.

A CULTURE OF CHANGE

Last month, supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whilst chanting “sai Buhari” and carrying brooms, stoned our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, whilst he was on his way to a rally in the north. It happened in Yola, Adamawa State. That was the third time that that had happened in just a few days. The first time it happened in Katsina State and then in Bauchi State.
In the case of Bauchi State, the violence resulted in the brutalisation, wounding and hospitalisation of no less than six of President Jonathan’s security operatives. In Yola, just as it was in Katsina and Bauchi, the whole thing was well-orchestrated and well-funded by the APC and there is an obvious and insidious conspiracy to hurt and intimidate the president and his supporters and to prevent them from campaigning in the north. This is despite the fact that Jonathan is very popular in many parts of the north and has millions of followers there. There was also the incident in Gombe State in which a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporter had his fingers chopped off simply because he was putting up posters of Goodluck Jonathan.

APC IS DESPERATE RUNNING ADVERTS WITH MY RENOUNCED, OUTDATED VIEWS ABOUT JONATHAN – FANI- KAYOD

ABUJA- PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO Sunday took a swipe at the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying the opposition was running newspaper advertorials with renounced and outdated views about President Goodluck Jonathan, describing such action as a measure of APC’s desperation.
In a statement Sunday by the Director of Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the PDP noted that the resort to such childish and dirty tactics by the APC would not distract him from his present assignment of selling the candidature of President Jonathan to the electorate and the Nigerian people while exposing the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari as incapable and unfit to rule Nigeria.

FFK URGES BUHARI TO ‘QUIT THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE’

He, therefore urged the retired general to opt out of the presidential race. At the rally of the ruling party in Kogi state on Tuesday, the first lady had told the gathering that Buhari was unfit to lead the country. “Old man wey no get brain, him brain don die pata pata,”she had said in pidgin English. Reacting to the statement, APC referred to her as crude and appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to call his wife to order. “President Jonathan is urged to call his wife to order,” Shehu Garba, director of media and publicity, APC presidential campaign, said on Wednesday.

OBASANJO HAS GOT HIS FACTS WRONG – FANI-KAYODE

Media Director of the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, says it was the electoral umpire that postponed the election and not the President.
He was reacting to the statement by the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing President Jonathan of forcing the postponement on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In a telephone interview with Channels Television Mr. Fani-Kayode explained that President Goodluck Jonathan had said that he was not behind the postponement of the elections.
“It is not the Government of President Jonathan that changed the dates of the election or postponed it. It was INEC, everybody knows this.

Former Minister of Aviation and Publicity Director of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode has once again ruled out the possiblity of Muhammadu Buhari ruling Nigeria.

The controversial writer said Buhari’s election would do more harm than good to the already troubled country.
FFK, Saturday took to his Facebook page to advice Nigerians against voting for the former warlord, saying that Buhari can’t rule the nation.

He wrote, “asking Muhammadu Buhari to preside over the affairs of Nigeria is like asking Count Dracula to watch over the maiden. It is like asking the wolf to protect little red riding hood. It is like asking the tiger to watch over the lamb. It is like asking the snake to protect the child. It is like asking the rapist to watch over the virgin. By the grace and power of the Living God and the will of the Nigerian people, we will stop him. This nation is moving forward and not backwards”

QUESTIONS GENERAL BUHARI MUST ANSWER, BY FANI-KAYODE

Major General Muhammadu Buhari has emerged as the APC flagbearer for the 2015 presidential election and President Goodluck Jonathan for the PDP. Now the battle for the soul and future of our nation begins. The forces of light shall surely prevail over the forces of darkness and God’s counsel alone shall stand over Nigeria. I stand with Jonathan and I say ‘’lets dance’’, ‘’lets get it on’’ and ‘’may the best man win’’.
Yet whilst doing so we ought to consider the words of Miss Dora Ade Bentley. On December 11 on her Facebook wall, she wrote the following: ‘’Jihadi groups killed more than 5,000 people last month, with Iraq topping the league table of deaths, followed by Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria. In 664 incidents recorded in November by the BBC World Service and researched jointly with King’s College London, the overall death toll was 5,042, or an average of 168 deaths per day and nearly twice the number of people who were killed in the 11 September 2001 attacks on America. After Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria, Yemen was fifth in the deadly league table, tying with Somalia, with 37 incidents each’’.

FEMI FANI KAYODE CALLS GOVERNOR AMAECHI POT BELLIED, HOUSE BOY, MONKEY AND CULTIST

In a post titled The Pot-bellied Creek Haramite And His Direct Threat, which he posted on Facebook, former Aviation minister Femi Fani Kayode slammed River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, calling him a cultist, house boy and monkey.

''If the PDP rig the election in 2015 we will not go to court and we will make the country ungovernable. We will form a parallel government and there will be anarchy''- Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

It is time for the President to take off the kid gloves and put this pot-bellied little monkey in his place. Once a houseboy, always a houseboy. Once a cult member always a cult member. Once a peasant, always a peasant.

FANI-KAYODE DISCHARGED, ACQUITTED OF MONEY LAUNDERING

Reprieve partially came the way of former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode this morning as a federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria discharged and acquitted him of thirty-eight count charge of money laundering out of forty count charge filed against him, while the court ordered him to enter his defence in the remaining two counts.
In her ruling, the presiding judge, Rita Ofili Ajumogobia said in considering the issue of no case submission as filed by the defence counsel, certain laid down principles needed to be considered, such as the following. Has the prosecution led any evidence to link the accused person to the commission of the offence? Is the evidence adduced by the prosecution so credible to sway the court to compel the accused person to enter his defence and is the evidence so adduced make meaning and sense to any discerning minds?
Justice Ajumogobia, while appraising the submission of the prosecution and the defence said the prosecution has failed woefully to prove beyond reasonable doubt the offences in thirty-eight. Counts accordingly discharged and acquitted the former minister on this charges while the former minister was ordered to enter his defence in counts twenty-five and twenty-six.

SOME HARD QUESTIONS FOR THE BUHARISTS, BY FEMI FANI-KAYODE

This is indeed the time for us to answer some hard questions and speak some home truths. It is a season that shall separate the men from the boys. It is a time that the holy and wholesome light of truth shall overwhelm and expose the evil darkness of doublespeak and deceit.
It is a season that the enunciation and exposure of the ugly realities of the day must not be sacrificed or compromised on the alter of political expediency or on the table of fear. Thankfully there are a few courageous and discerning voices that have risen to the occasion, made the relevant observations and asked the right questions. Amongst them are Bayo Oladeji and Opeyemi Agbaje. Permit me to begin with the former.
