Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr kayode Fayemi, has described as false, reports linking him to discussing the economic programmes of President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at the Lagos Business School. In a statement yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, Fayemi described such reports as misguided and fabricated.
The statement said: “While it is true that Dr Fayemi was Guest Speaker at the Lagos Business School (LBS) Breakfast meeting, he was not there as a representative of the President-elect, General Muhammad Buhari and neither was he introduced as such.
Aside this, the various “policies” of the incoming administration purported to have been disclosed by Dr Fayemi by the misleading reports, were mere fabrication as the thrust of discussion at the event was essentially on the campaign manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and how it was successfully marketed to the electorate.

WHY I BUILT NEW EKITI GOVERNMENT HOUSE – FAYEMI
IN a publication that pictorially showcased ex-governor Kayode Fayemi’s exploit in Ekiti, titled: ‘Leapfrogging Ekiti from Obscurity to Prosperity’ the conception and funding of the new controversial government house were clearly stated that ‘’The administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti State places much premium on infrastructure which it believes is a catalyst for modernizing the state.
Infrastructural development is the second policy thrust of the 8-point agenda of the Fayemi administration otherwise known as the “Roadmap to Ekiti Recovery.
‘’Desirous of being remembered for good by citizens of the State, the Fayemi administration conceived what it called “Legacy Projects” bequeathed to the generations yet unborn.
‘’In conceiving the projects, the administration took cognizance of the need to execute projects that accord with the needs of the government and people of Ekiti and critically also, positively project the Land of Honour in the comity of states in Nigeria.
‘’Not ready to be encumbered by the meagre allocations from the Federation Account as the state is 35th out of 36th on the nation’s revenue ladder, the administration secured a N25 billion bond from the Capital Market.

FAYEMI YELLS ■ YOU’VE NOT HEARD THE LAST ABOUT EKITI ELECTION
…’Read my speech again. I did not accept defeat.’
Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has countered the widespread belief that he conceded defeat to his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenger, Mr. Ayodele Fayose who was declared winner of the June 21 governorship poll in the state. In his first interview after the election granted to Dapo Thomas, a journalist and university teacher who also writes for Sunday Sun, Fayemi asked anyone who thought he accepted the outcome to read the transcript of his post-election broadcast again.
“Anyone who understands the English language well would know that that speech was not the concession speech that many people are talking about. Yes, I have said I won’t challenge the election in court and congratulated Mr Fayose, but that’s not tantamount to accepting the result. That’s about saving Ekiti.”
The governor fielded questions on what went wrong in Ekiti; whether he had regrets for his policies and actions; his relationship with the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other compelling issues.

APC LEADERS GANG UP AGAINST FAYEMI
•In secret alliance with Bamidele
The governorship election in Ekiti State has begun to take a new twist as questions are now being asked on the level of support being received by the state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, from the powers that be in his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
There are also indications that the candidature of the Labour Party’s Opeyemi Bamidele in the June 21 election, has the blessing of the leaders of the APC in the South-West, with sources in the party claiming that the leaders have more sympathy for Bamidele than they have for Governor Fayemi in the race.
According to sources in the party, there had been speculations about the close relationship of Senator Tinubu with Honourable Bamidele as opposed to Governor Fayemi. Indeed, Bamidele was said to have confided in some people that his defection from the APC had the full blessing of the ‘Lion of Bourdillon’.
